Thank you for appreciating my previous post where i was building a background on the 7 cosmic laws, Why numerous forms or branches of astrology exist and how can we better understand them all from a few basic underlying principles or universal laws of nature.
Here i begin with those underlying observations and laws of nature that give birth to various branches of Astrology.
The 1st of those is what i like to call, 'The law of 'Sequences''
So what is the 'Law of Sequences'? Let's begin,
To state in brief, the law of sequences states that
'Everything within this universe is a sequence. Every sequence is composed of many sub-sequences contributing to it, and is in itself a part of a larger Super-sequence.'
Confused?!
Let me now go in more detail, and share this idea in a more thorough manner.
Imagine a Photon (packet of energy) that originates from the sun and starts it's journey towards earth. The origin from sun is the 'Initiation' or the 'Brahma' segment in the life of that photon. The photon transverses billions of Kilometers in Space. This is the 'sustenance' or 'Vishnu' phase of it's life. Finally, the photon than reaches earth and strikes the leaf of a plant. Here it is absorbed by the chlorophyl Molecule inside the leaf and turned into a chemical bond between glucose molecules. (Radiation energy has transformed into Chemical energy). Has the life of Photon ended? In a way Yes, and 1 'sequence' has ended. The 'Culmination / Transformation' or the 'Shiva' phase has entered. The photon left 1 sequence and entered a new one. Now this same photon is present in a different 'form' as a chemical bond within the starch or glucose molecules of the leaf (plant). Here it is eaten by an animal, where this same bond is broken down in the animal's stomach and transformed into some other kind of chemical bond that can be stored in the animal's liver. This bond is again broken and turned into energy for the movement of the animal's body parts and generating heat for it's survival. It may be used as food by another larger animal to continue the same process. The same 'Packet of energy' or the Photon, went from 1 sequence into the next one and the next one. Every-time, there is an 'Initiation' , a 'sustenance' phase and a final 'culmination or transformation' to enter a new sequence. The journey never ends.
Similarly, can you see a similar pattern when you wake up in the morning. There is a beginning, a sustenance and a culmination or transformation when you come back home and sleep. But within this 'full day sequence' there were many smaller, 'sub-sequences' as well. Like the small sequence of you starting from your bed to the bathroom, like the sub-sequence of your journey from your home to office, the sequence of working in the office and finally the return journey that started & ended, with you reaching home. And this full day sequence is nothing but a part of your monthly, yearly and in turn your entire life sequence.
I hope i am beginning to make some sense to the idea of Sequences here. And may be sounding creepy, or very obvious to a many of you.
But just stay with me a few more minutes, You will appreciate it...
Consider the position of the CEO in a company. It starts, runs and ends, but the company stays. A new CEO comes. Consider the Solar system, it was born from the remnants of a supernova ( A big star that exploded and died to gave birth to our solar system) Our Solar system is a sequence. It is running it's 10 billion year life cycle. One day this solar system will end. and a New different and transformed system will be born. Similarly our Galaxy was born and will end one day after colliding with Andromeda Galaxy in about 5 billion years and a new different galaxy will be born out of the same energy and matter.
And if you look from a high level, The Solar system Sequence, All previous sequences, including the photon to the plant example, the human life example and the CEO example are also 'sub-sequences' to the solar system 'sequence' which in turn is a part of the Galactic and Universal 'Sequence'.
Everything is a sequence of 'Initiation' , 'sustenance' and 'transformation'. All sequence are formed by many smaller sub-sequences contributing to it's formation and every sequence itself, is in turn a part of some bigger cycle or sequence.
You can see this in every process around you.
IST (Initiation, sustenance, Transformation) is just one of the many kinds of sequences that exist in the universe. There are other sequences as well, that i will mention below. ICT is just the most common one.
So if these examples were able to give you a brief idea, here i will mention the main postulates or points of this law:
This Law of Sequence has 6 Main Postulates/Points:
‘Everything’ and every event, every process or every entity in this universe is a sequence or is following one of the many 'Universal Sequences'.
There are many ''Universal Sequences'' that everything and every entity in this Universe is following and has to follow.
Each sequence is made up of smaller and similar, interacting "Sub-Sequences."
Each sequence is a part of a bigger and similar ''Super Sequences.'' &
All individual sequences also follow other Individual yet universal Sequences.
Nothing ever Actually ends or dies, No-one dies, Everything only shifts from 1 Sequence to the next one by the process of transformation or by ending of the previous sequence. One sequence ends or transforms to start another new one which follows the same pattern or rules again in a different form.
Now, just bear with me for 1 more minute. Next few lines will show you the correlation of this understanding with Astrology and Many Astrological principles.
There are a few universal Sequences that every entity in this universe is Following and has to follow. Plus there are some random and erratic Sequence.(These are the reason for Anomalies).
Some common universal sequences that exist and are used in Astrology include:
IST ( Initiation, Sustenance, Transformation )
Fire-earth-air-water-escape (Panchtantra sequence)
Fixed - Movable - Dual nature
The 12 houses / signs sequence
The Nakshatra sequence
The symmetry
And all these Sequences are intertwined and super-imposing upon each other. They all Follow each other as well, in addition to independently running themselves.
IST is just the biggest and most basic of all of these.
You may have heard of and seen many Divisional charts in 'Vedic' as well as 'Western' Astrology.
What are these at the most basic level?
They are a representation of these sequences and 'sub-sequences'. Look at the image below and tell me you also see the pattern?
Every sub chart is a sub sequence, sometimes aligned , sometimes not aligned with the higher one.

The D9 Chart is formed by splitting the main D1 house / sequence into 9 parts. It also follows the 12 house / sign sequence and hence, after 9, the first sign of the 2nd house is 10 (Capricorn) and not 1 Aries). Similarly the 3 decadents in Western chart are splitting of the main D1 house into 3 equal parts. They can be split based on both the 12 sign sequence or the Fixed - Movable - Dual sequence also to create a D3 of sort.
So if you see a pattern or similarity in the way Divisional charts are sub parts of the main chart and how life sequences are a part of the main sequence, if this article and these images have given you an idea of what i am trying to share here, than i suppose i was at-least partially able to explain to you, the 1st law of Astrology and that is, the law of 'Sequences'. I had to do this in a window of 5 - 7 minutes as too long texts are usually left unread and in an interesting way. There is a lot more i can share on the same to make the concept even more clearer, but for that, you'll need to discuss it with me in a personal discussion or class.
So if you would like to, talk more on it, Feel free to ping me on WhatsApp or Telegram.
If this was good enough, then i am happy i was able to give you some new insights on the topic.
In the next post, we will talk about another equally important law,
and we will discuss them all, All 7 of them.. and some more gyaan.
Until then,
Thank you for reading,
Yours truly
